It is important to understand community - what a community is, and the specific nature of the community we work in. Anything we do in a community requires us to be familiar with its people, its history, its demographics, culture, issues, and needs.
Operation Stitches has worked within the local public housing sector for more than 25 years. This has not only given a clear perspective of the community’s needs we work with, but also it has gained the acceptance and trust of our organisation.
Our programs include carnival style events and parenting program that promote community engagement and inclusion where we connect with not only the young people but also families, single parents and other vulnerable singles.
