A good education is essential to build a good pathway for the future. Hundreds of young people reside in the public housing sector where through their social disadvantage they miss out on many opportunities to build their future goals. Many come from migrant families where English is their second language and often struggle to assist their children academically.
Early years provide the foundation for the development of life skills and academic education that the young need in order to reach their individual potential in society as adults. Positive Influence and encouragement builds character, life skills and habits developed during this period which affects not only their own sense of belonging and self-worth, but also what they will achieve throughout their life. Lack of basic learning skills will cause these children to fall behind in schooling and finally drop out of school all together as they grow older.
